Everything everyone else says. The arugula salad slaps in its simplicity. The Bubba Guy was my favorite. The Cherry Jones was unique but not mind-blowing unique as you'd think with gongonzola and cherries, though it was a nicer sweeter pie. The vibe is cute, loud, busy. Cocktails weren't anything special.
This place is perfect in so many ways. The options for pizzas are amazing. Delicious flavor with every bite. We got the hellboy and addedd some Italian sausage to it. Perfection. The service is great. You will get your food in a timely manner and it's made to order which is great. One pie is good enough for 2 or 3 people. We enjoyed every bite!
Overall, the neopolitan pizzas are fantastic. They were the right crisp, the crust was fluffy, and the sauce/topping/dough ratio were pretty even. The Hellboy (we added arugula) was delicious especially since I enjoy hot honey. The sake mountain way pizza kind of resembled a simple cheese pizza since all the toppings were blended into a sauce, so when we brought some slices back home, we added mushrooms and bacon on top to add some different texture. Excited to come back and try some of their other pizzas.
Very very good. I've lived in the neighborhood for a little over a year and have only tried the slice shop. The wood fire pizzas here are delicious. So much flavor and loved that there were so many options on the menu. We decided to try the Caesar salad, Greenpointer & HELLBOY. Caesar was savory and tasty, wasn't sure how I felt about the fried cheese croutons but I won't dock points for it! The two pizzas were great choices. I liked the fresh and lightness of the Greenpointer and the HELLBOY didn't feel too heavy either but that is definitely the star of the show. I 100% recommend and would definitely go back. Service was fast and they were friendly! No AC but WORTH IT.
Pizza - hellboy. I don't get the hype of this hot honey. Meh, not a fan of sweet on my savory. With the meats, it actually ended up being too salty. Pizza - white porky pie. I usually don't like white pizza as much but I liked this pizza better than the other. Appetizer to share - Arancini. The insides were delicious. Two of them were super hard on the outside. No, not crispy, but hard. The last one was perfectly crispy. Something went wrong with the batch. The pizza flavors were OK, but oh, this crust is thin and crispy, delicious. This is what they call neopolitan style pizza with the oven in the back.
Above average wood fired Neapolitan. I just wished crust could be bit more crispy. Must get the "Hellboy" and their OG Arugula salad. Good choices of cocktail and wine. My server, she was extremely polite and responsive. Parking in the area is somewhat difficult and meters up till 10pm.
Also packed with a line outside the door for late lunch - but the interior is spacious with also outdoor seating! We got the Hell Boy and Mutz, which was a lot flavorful than a typical white pie with a great oomph from the garlic. We've tried the Hell Boy slice at MSG but getting it fresh and hot here is best - the sesame dough crunch is unreal!
We were walking to our car to go to our next destination when all of the sudden our noses were hit with a cheesy smell. The a very strong whoa this is so cheesy smell. We turned to each other and said, "where's that from?". Upon realizing it was a pizzeria we noted the name of the restaurant for the future. We got to the car and said just one slice wouldn't hurt. Getting back out of the car and ordering a slice was the best decision made all day. We wanted to try the hellboy but couldn't afford the 10min wait so opted for the Mootz to go. It was a fresh and low moisture mozzarella with garlic and pecorino romaro. Essentially the best white cheese pizza you can have. I highly recommend it. I must come back for more. Made my top list of pizzerias for sure!
